Long Haul down the Spanish Coast

Left A Coruna while the weather was ok, and prepared for a long haul down the Spanish and then the Portuguese coasts.

Had little or no wind with glassy seas and a long low greasy swell…. Have had to motor sail all of the way. Sometimes we’ve had the little gusts to pick up our average, but mostly plodding along at around 6 knots… And so we rotated through the watches, 3 on, 6 off.

The fishermen here lay their long lines wherever they like, ignoring the prohibited zones, so dodging fishing nets and buoys as we go along. The nav lights are also interesting as well… Not unlike the usual fishing lights in Moreton Bay.. the ones where you have no aspect of the vessel until a crewman lights a cigarette.
